As a part of our restructuring plan, Blank Conversations has re-classified some positions that were previously a part of the Board of Directors. The positions below are now apart of our Staff initiative. Learn about the positions we are currently hiring for.
Positions
Executive DirectorPreviously the leader of the Executive Committee, this position now is a combination of all three previous positions into one. Oversees the progress of each production and supports the people at the helm. Administrative.
Education ChairOversees The Empty Studio project: A creative studio developed for educational opportunities within the realm of performance art. Education Chair ensures all productions have learning opportunities for those who desire them.
Marketing DirectorHelp curate digital and print materials advertising the organization and its’ productions. Oversee a team of designers and analysts with the intent to grow outreach in all aspects of Blank Conversations’ development.
What should I know about these positions?
The Staff positions we are hiring for do not have concrete qualifications beyond having an interest in further developing these positions with the team at Blank Conversations. These new Staff positions are positions previously held on a volunteer basis, like the rest of the Board of Directors in previous years. At minimum, we are in search of personnel who maintain skills and interests in the above titles, and we wish to provide an outlet to learn and develop in such areas.

The reclassification of the positions above is based on feedback the organization has received regarding the necessary commitment to fulfill these responsibilities well. Our intention is to better understand the commitment necessary for anybody to fulfill the obligations of each position. In reflection, we’ve decided to offer small compensation to individuals fulfilling these positions for 2026 fiscal year. And listen: We recognize it isn’t much. However, it’s with best intent to compensate anybody who decide to take on these positions for this year, and we intend to invest further in the coming years.
