Blank Conversations & Rio Grande Theatre present
Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Cast (2026)
October 23rd & 24th, 2026
Blank Conversations Theatre Company & Rio Grande Theatre’s biggest event of the year returns this October with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Cast”
Characters:
DR. FRANK-N-FURTER - The brilliant, talented, gorgeous, kind, charming, flawless mad scientist. Transsexual and Transylvanian. Seductive. Mysterious. Has a nice house.
BRAD - Seems like a nice, innocent, yuppie guy. Is an asshole (derogatory).
JANET - Seems like a nice, innocent, yuppie gal. Is a slut (complement).
RIFF RAFF & MAGENTA - Without this dynamic butler-and-maid duo, Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s nice house would be in shambles. They keep the show going and keep a close eye on their master…for very innocent and unassuming reasons. They’re maybe siblings, maybe lovers, maybe both, but definitely iconic.
COLUMBIA - Lives with Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff, and Magenta. Just for fun I guess. She’s sweet and charming and is a good dancer. But boy does she miss her man Eddie… whatever happened to him, anyway?
EDDIE - Boy does he miss his gal Columbia…maybe he’ll sing a rock-n-roll song about it. Hey, why is it so cold in here?
DR. EVERETT V. SCOTT - He just has a few questions for Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Nothing too serious. But if he could find his missing nephew, Eddie, that would be really cool.
THE NARRATOR, or THE CRIMINOLOGIST - This man is on the case! He helps us through the story in his chic little office, and even does a little jig. But when he talks, it’s pretty boring, and we wish he’d just shut up already so we can watch Dr. Frank-N-Furter cook!!!
TRANSYLVANIANS - The most important characters in this production. These friendly folk will be greeting and interacting with the victims audience before the show, and will make up much of the scenery and props during the show. Be prepared to get down and dirty, and have an out-of-this world experience.
The ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (1975) is the tale of an innocent beautiful scientist who just wants to share their scientific advancements with the world! Fortunately, a couple of innocent-looking humans come to witness the unveiling of the scientist’s greatest creation: the world’s most gorgeous hominid. How exciting! Unfortunately, other party guests have ulterior motives. How ever will the scientist cope? Healthily, I’m sure.
This is a shadow cast. That means that the original film will play on the big screen in the background as we do our best to replicate it—in our own, special, twisted fashion, of course.
